Default RX Ballast

I am new to this website, which by the way I find to be very informative with alot of great information and help.
-I keep hearing to buy a part from a club lexus vendor? Where should I go for a ballast for my 04 RX 330? I hear ebay and find most to be used? Is that what is recommeneded?

-Also, regarding AFS. If my vehicle has rain sensing wipers and headlamp washers, as well as the headlamps go up/down and then level off, does that mean I have AFS? Thanks again...............

First, sounds like you have AFS to me.

Second, too bad about your headlight. i would make sure you buy a decent quality ballast, as you dont want to waste your money on a high ticket item.
consider yourself lucky, when i worked at acura, a guy with a TL had his bulb go, he needed a bulb, ballast and igniter, came to 1000 bucks.

Mike, it sounds like you have AFS which was standard on the performance package (illuminated door sills, air suspension, 18" wheels). There is a button to turn AFS off under the steering wheel. I can't remember if auto leveling was unique to AFS or standard with HIDs.

I can't help you with the parts but the DIYers here will definitely give you some suggestions as to where to go. Good luck.

Will my vin number decifer whether or not I have AFS What exactly does AFS stand for? The reason I keep asking is because Ebay sellers are telling me I don't have AFS and if I buy a whole new asembly due to moisture reasons, it matters whether or not I have AFS.
Here's what I do know my 04 RX 330 has for options: 18" wheels, Nav, illuminated entry, rain sensing wipers, headlight washers, mark levinson sound....not sure about the air suspension, anyone know how to tell? Thanks,

Still need to know who anyone recommends to but a ballast from.

look to the right of the seat heater switch, there will be a switch for up and down if you have air ride, if not, there is nothing.

or look at your suspension, if you see a coil spring, no air ride.

And the control to turn off the air suspension is underneath the steering wheel a few inches away from the one to turn off AFS. I also have a button next to the gas door release to move the car up and down with a picture of a seat.

AFS = Adaptive front lighting system

I might be mistaken where the AFS button is. It might be by the gas door release. Can't remember now. All these stupid buttons everywhere, hard to keep track
