Default Gold Emblems

Are gold emblems out of style?

We have a new Pebble Beach, Truffle Mica, that wifey thinks the gold emblems would look great on. I sort of agree. Will help accent the mica flecks in the paint. We got the gold license plate covers and they look good. But, I don't see the gold emblems too much anymore.

What's your opinion?

That's were I am going to get them from. About $180 for the whole car vs. $400 or more from dealer. Have communicated with one of the sellers and they say its about 1 1/2 hour job max for a novice. Dealer can do in 30 minutes. You just use a hair dryer to heat up the emblem held in place by tape, use a plastic putty knife and pop off - or use fishing line or floss.

Not worth the money!!! Gold emblem is out of style, looks tacky & too pretentious. It's already a luxury car & your just trying to make it look more expensive. Being subtle is best.

Make sure you have a white suit, white boot and a white cowboy hat to go with the gold emblems

That's a good one! I have to second that. The gold emblems are definitely out of favor. They would be good if you wanted your vehicle to age 10 years in just minutes. I used to like them, but you couldn't give them to me for free now.

When I got my RX300, I had gold emblems on them from the previous owner. I just couldn't get used to them, so about early 2004, I had my uncle remove them and go to badgeless rear along with spraypainting the front L to a silver color. It just looked too gaudy.

YES THEY ARE OUT OF STYLE. DO NOT GET THEM, I REPEAT DO NOT GET THEM. Your RX will end up looking gaudy and honestly the emblems lack class its kind of like showing off your car. Don't do it, its like people who a BMW or Mercedes and put a huge logo of it in the front. Is it really necessary. Now the black emblems are different, but I think they only came on the ES sedans and those look nice. Honestly keep it the way it is and since you have a Pebble Beach its unique already.

That's kinda what I thought. Just did not strike me as being right. Now to just convince my wife. Maybe I'll just take my time and it will go away.

You forgot to mention the 10 gold chains, bracelets, and rings.
