Default Mud Guard

Hi,

New here. Picking up my 04 Lexus tomorrow in WI. Driving back to ON.

This looks like a great discussion forum. Similar to my Tundra forum.

I did a search on mud flaps and there are a lot of posts but what I couldn't directly find out is if anyone ordered after market ones. It seems all the ones I found are Lexus OEM flaps (for $90 a set).

Any good after market ones that look OEM for a more reasonable price?

Thanks

Geniune Lexus mud flaps will give you a more integrated look to the wheel wells. I installed a set but after installing it, it doesn't really provide too much coverage but I like the way it looks, giving the wheel well a smoother extension. Truthfully the mud flaps won't give that much more of rock protection but if you want it for looks then go for it. I was lucky to find a set on sale at eBay for $75, now $85. Seller's name is sslexus_parts.

I didn't even look at aftermarket for my 05. I like the way the OEM fit and blend it. They definetly look factory and are a very easy DIY job.

Yes, the OEM's are the way to go. It is tailored to look at they were designed in...frankly they should have made it standard....but some folks do not like it.

Thanks for the feedback. I looked at the OEM ones again and found out that all 4 are included. I thought there were only 2.

100 bucks is not all that bad now.

Default OE Mud Guards

I have the OE Mud Guards on my '04 RX. They look good but I had to trim the ones in the front. They hang unsupported underneath the wheel well and look weird when looking at them from the the rear of the vehicle. I trimmed the unsupported part off and it looks better now.

I did notice that, too. I may need to do it too.....now why do they have the extra curve in there.....??

Had the flaps on for about 2 weeks now. Most are correct in that they offer little protection but I think they add a bit to the bottom of the vehicle.

I guess I'll have to go and check if I need to trim anything.

No trimming required, everything looks good as they are, at least for me.

Checked mine - I'm Ok with the fit and look. Much better than without the flaps IMO.

Believe it or not the mud guards do work I know longer get the dirt spray along the back bumper or black tar specs on the bottom drivers door. ps. the Mudguards are the darker colored plastic.

Looking good, really makes the car stand out. OEM fit...saves you some dirt on the paint...
