Default White Dust Particles on Dash

I am getting this white dust on my dash. Lexus is looking into it and have called their tech person.

It seems to happen after the car has sat overnight and then the a/c or heat starts in the morning.

I have changed the in cabin air filters 3 times now and still no fix.

It almost looks like cigarette ash but has a harder consistency to touch.

Wow, a mystery....very insteresting...mine is just cloth residue, I need to use microfiber cloth to put down my AS 303. Or better yet, I am getting a sponge next time.

Yep, I get the same thing. Always thought it was the cloth I was using to wipe it down.

I heard from Lexus today.

The dealer told me he had contacted Lexus Tech's In Toronto and they said
they knew about the problem but didn't have a fix for it.

hmmmmmm same old same old.

Dealer said they were still not satisfied and would continue on to see if they
could remedy it

Will keep you posted

Interesting. I have what appears to be the same residue on my dash, and it's really visible on the black finish. Been that way since about new. Always thought it was a very fine dust that got into the pebble grain finish, and was reluctant to move. Will be curious to know what the Dealer comes up with. Please let us know if you find the cure!

Default no fix yet

Well I was at the Lexus dealer again today and they told me

that Lexus was working on it and they were pretty sure they knew what it

was. Some kind of coating they put in the heater/air conditioner unit.

They said they hadn't come up with a fix yet but were working on it and the

dealer will let me know.

They said it is not unique to the the RX350 either its there in other models to.

Will let you know as I find out more.

I had the same problem with my Audi. It was defective anti bacteria coating they use on the exchanger or evaporator? It flakes off and blows out through the vents. The unit was replaced and the flakes stopped.

And if they do not do a good job of solering the AC connections, your AC will fail shortly. Scary.

well...how much do the white particles really bother you? maybe its just me but i rarely ever use air con cause in san francisco, not a lot of hot weather. Just dont use the defrost setting and you should be fine. lol
