Default RX330 Side Mirror issue

I have a 05 RX330 with the auto tilt side mirror in reverse. The driver's side mirror does not tilt fully, I have had it to the dealer 4 times ... still no resolution. Anyone else have the same issue? Passenger side mirror tilts fully to so that one can see parking markers on ground.

Its a pretty common problem with Lexus across their SUV line. They had a bunch of bad motors from the vendor. Just keep bringing it back, you are bound to get a good one.

Try this, worked for me. With the RX sitting still (gotta be safe ya know), reach out and manually tilt the mirror up (will be slight ratchet sound). Now, re-adjust the mirror using the buttons to where you normally have it. Shift into reverse and see if it doesn't tilt down further. Found this quite by accident after washing the car and messing up the mirror by tiliting it down so far that the reverse actuated tilt didn't work.

Hope this helps.

I had what I thought was the same 'problem' but the last time I brought it in, the service advisor and I checked some of the loaners and demo's and they all had the same amount of tilt. So apparently the drivers side doesn't tilt the same amount as the passenger side. I could have sworn the drivers side did tilt more when the car was new but after comparing it with 4 others on the lot, they all tilted the same amount.

This topic has been covered quite a bit and some have suggested there is a way to adjust the amount of tilt but no detailed steps have described this procedure.

I am going to try this... I believe the problem developed when I had it accidently not pushed out the mirror all the way once and was trying to adjust it. So it sounds as if your solution will work.

As mentioned earlier, I had it to the dealer 4 times... well, atleast they wash the car each time they try to fix this problem.

Thanks,

Best of luck with this. It did work for me and I've done the same thing on my wife's IS250 when her mirrors didn't tilt properly. Let us know if it worked.

Reminder, the select button has to be on either left or right for the Tilt to work on Reverse.
