Everytime you start the engine, should your light always move up and down
to determine that your automatic leveling light system is working ?
I'm asking because I had an accident and they had to remove my front
combination lamp, now I don't experience that up and down movement of
the light anymore. But so far I don't see any warning light. So that means
my headlight is level ?
check the button area near the gas cap release. there should be a button that says AFS off. CLick the button. perhaps its turned off
If AFS is off, there'll be a warning light on the tach face saying so.
If you've got HID lights, they should level themselves; if the car is new enough to have AFS, they should move right and left, as well, all at vehicle startup.

Reason: correct statement: not all RXs with HID lights have AFS
I only notice the HID leveling (up and down) on startup if I'm parked on an incline. If I'm parked on a level surface, I don't notice it. Doesn't mean it's not doing it, but it's certainly not as dramatic.

you are absolutely right about the movement from right to left of the HID lights if you have AFS, I think that's what I'm not experiencing right now.
(to correct my previous posting of up & down motion of the HID). I'll try to
observe for some more nights start up if it's still not doing it I will bring it back
to the collision center. (Anyway it's a LEXUS collision center so they can
correct it.)
My lights move up/down and side to side every time I start the car! I do keep my lights on all the time so I see it immediatly when I start! It doesnt matter if you are on a hill or level ground they move each start.
