Default Rx330 Broken Swaybar

Last week while i was taking a curve in the road pretty quick, i heard this metal noise break and the tires chriped. I knew something was wrong. but the car still drove ok. Today lexus called me and said the swaybar is broken!! They said it snaped right in half. Is there anything i should make sure they check out while its there? Will this affect my tire life?

Thanks!
Nick

Sway bar should not break unless it is soaked with road salt every winter. Lexus should cover it under warranty. How much is a replacement part?

There wont be any charge, but i am just worried that the car only has 15k miles on it and that happens? thats not a good sign is it?

Take a closer look at the old bar - the appearance on the breaking point may tell you why.
Sway bar can be hallow or solid, my RX300's rear sway is solid. If your sway is hallow and happens to be a defect one, water and salt rust it from inside until it is weak enough to snap in half.

It's probably an isolated incident due to a defect in the swaybar. I wouldn't be too concerned about additonal problems. It's interesting that you mention a chirp from the tires - probably the VSC kicking in as a result of the sudden roll. Looks like that part performed "as advertised"!
