Worth repairing or get rid
I've seen the techs in uniform many times during normal business hours picking up parts at the auto part store.
What are they buying?
I don't know but it's "things that make you go hmmmmm". Lol
Please don't anyone assume anything these days and make sure you are getting what you paid for. Lol
True story.
Back in the day after highschool and before college I started as an oil changer for a tire chain and then quickly graduated up to general service and shocks and struts.
Our sales advisor was telling the customer they were getting Monroe brand struts.
They weren't!
When I saw a customer come back raising hell for getting ripped off, the salesman's excuse was, "Well they don't say Monroe on them but they come from the same factory".
Yeah, nice try.
Selling name brand parts for name brand $$$ money but installing aftermarket. BUSTED. Haha

The KYB Excel-G shocks are pretty much the closest to OEM you can get and you can buy them from Autodoc.co.uk for around £100 each side. I removed both front lower control arms and pressed in new bushes, the bushes cost a total of £40. I stripped the paint off the control arms, applied Bilt Hamber 80 rust treatment and repainted them with zinc oxide primer then hammerite black paint.
It came out looking great. I think the total cost including buying the bushing press kit, wrenches etc was £400, at the same time I replaced the ball joints and outer tie rods (since you are getting a wheel alignment you might as well get these - KYB ones from autodoc cost around £20-25 each side - you might as well!).
In all cases if it is something you dont wanna do yourself buy the parts yourself and find a reputable garage to do it that is happy to use parts you bring for the work.
