Default No power under a load

New to the forum, very informative but I have not seemed to find anything That fits what I have going on. My car idles perfect and will Rev up when in park or neutral but slowly...I cleaned both ocv filter screens and pulled both ocv and worked the plunger and could hear the rattle inside the unit, I did not meter them due to not knowing how exactly...I did clean them and pulled the cam sensor and it looked fine and wiped off the oil that was on it. The screens were not gummed up but I went ahead and cleaned them. The car has 179k miles. This started a while back and I did not have time to mess with it at that time, had a backup vehicle so shelved it...I pulled the codes and got both knock sensors as a result. I just looked up how to change them and that doesn't seem to bad, the price however would be a hit if not needed. Any info would be greatly appreciated and all advice will be looked at as knowledge. Thank you so much and I appreciate your time in advance.

Welcome to Club Lexus.

Please do a search on Knock Sensors.

Typically the ecu will lock out the top gear so that would increase your rpm without allowing you increase in speed.

The reason why I was asking was to see if theRe was a way to test before spending a boatload on new ones, I searched the best I could and did not find an answer. I appreciate your reply but it was not 100% helpful, yes it is true that OD does not engage, however when I put any load on the engine it will barely pull, it also backfires. Kind of like it is in limp mode. I have no problem metering any components, just need to know the parameters and the correct way to do it. Again thanks in advance for reading and any help that might come.my way

Please list all CEL codes you are getting? It seem other things are happening? What made you service the OCV?

ECU has already diagnosed the problem zone ,, it can be the sensor, the wires/connectors to the ecu. or the ecu accusation channel. You can use oscilloscope to see the transducer output [would need to decipher good from bad].

Parts are cheap as compared to labor. Do not waste money on any after marker sensors.

If money is the issue, you can look for a hack, but be advised that altering the wiring is illegal.

I serviced the ocv based on information gathered from this site about the way my vehicle was running. At that point I was not sure what the problem was, only that my ride was just not running right. Is it odd that both knock sensors go out at the same time? The codes were for both sensors and random misfire. Can't remember the code numbers exactly

I would say get the codes read.

You can ignore the knock sensor till the other codes are understood and repaired. Knock sensors codes can be real ... when there is excessive knocking or typically they fail around 150k miles life.

The spark plugs need to be replaced every 110K miles and please use OEM plugs. The misfire code will narrow down to which cylinder is failing (plugs or coil-pack).
