This problem just came out of nowhere... The other day my car was running perfect and on the way to the bank today my car started making this weird knocking noise after i hit about 4k rpm's and it feels really slow... The more I drove the worse it got. By the time I got home the car wouldn't even stay on, it'll just keep dieing. The oil and oil filter was changed about 3k miles ago and I just replaced the battery and I still have this problem.
it might be the main air-flow sensor used to happen to my ford i used to use fuel injection clean just to get any power and it sounded like my car was ticking.. sorry to hear !!!
OR IS U USE CHEAP GAS??????

A maf problem wont cause the engine to sound like pop-corn poping and idle at 100 RPM's.
And I did fill it up with gas today. Maybe the gas station's gas was crap?? Idk...

My first thoughts were towards the catalytic converter(s), egr valve, or cpu/fuel delivery problem? I know it's not much help, but just throwing ideas out there...
I think you hit the nail on the head! Most likely sucked up water from an almost empty gas station underground tank! Being heavier than gas, the condesate water sinks to the bottom of the holding tank and dilutes the residual gasoline. The station will most likely deny any responsibility. See if you can pull off a gallon and check the color. The color should be pink, the darker the better. It should not be lite pink and definitely not white.
see if you can get ahold of a can of 44k and pour that stuff in your fuel tank and see if you can get it to idle and leave it or drive around your neighborhood slowly for a while after putting that stuff in...
When was timing belt replaced?? maybe slipped a notch?? Toyota dealer can change them a lot cheaper than lexus.. at least here in the midwest, and you are out of warranty..
its like straight ethanol but it will clean out all the stuff it comes in contact with from the gas tank to when it finally gets detonated in the combustion process. it gets sold a s fuel additive/ fuel injector cleaner but it is pretty much a can of straight ethanol.

Just because your Ford had the problem has nothing to do with this forum. People are looking for problems that effect their car not your car..
