I have a problem with my front left set of brake pads. They were worn down to the metal and the right pads looked brand new, almost no wear. Mileage was less then 8000. Could this be a master cyl prob, or a anti lock prob. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you tried to bleed front right? Does the fluid come out of the right slave when you bleed?
How is your fuel economy? Without braking, does your vehicle tend to go straight or pulls to the left?
Have tried to lay down the rubber on an open street or parking lot? If so what is the pattern of the rubber on the pavement?

If it isnt a caliper than it could be a bad rubber brake line...Drive the car down the road for a bit and then stop and feel the wheels on the left and right side. If the left side is real hot and the other side is warm the caliper is hanging up. Sometimes a bad brake line (expands inside due to age) will not allow the caliper to release properly. But probably just a bad caliper.
I thought about comparing the heat of the rotors, will do today. Gas mileage at 18.2 mostly in town so not too bad. Haven't bleeded (or is that blead) the brake caliper yet.
Interesting part no indication in the breaking probably due to great antilock system. Will look into emergency breaking and laying out a strip of rubber.
My guess now is that the caliper is not releasing, should be indicated by a hotter rotor on that side.

Tested the rotors for heat after driving for a while, no difference in temp between right or left.
Stops straight if you let go of the wheel.
I do not hear the antilock kicking in on a hard stop.
I am going to bleed the brakes and maybe change to a rebuilt caliper on the left time.
I will keep this post informed.

This is what makes autozone pads so cool, if a caliper hangs up and burns one up, you can get another set for free.
I had Autozone pads on, long story same car my son brought it in to a shop the first time it failed and they took off the Autozone pads and replaced with Monroes without informing me. i wish I still had them, I had to buy a new set.
Good advise about the Autozones, my friend had them changed 3 times. FREE!!
