Default Why RX300 owners doesn't act together

just learned that rav4 owner had a class action on its bad transmission, I am wondering why there is no action from lexus owners. http://wheels.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/07/13/toyota-extends-warranty-on-troubled-2001-3-rav4/

Honda have been pretty good with major defects such as this (I'm thinking specifically of the T/L transmission. Trouble is, most of the RX300s are over 10 years old now and its dofficult to pin a manufacturer down after all this time.

They won't do anything, it's not completely their fault. They did say NO MAINTENANCE (trans oil) which is obviously not true if you want the transmission to survive.

There are way worse transmission designs that are guaranteed to fail but the manufacture still hasn't done anything about, such as the dodge caravans (41TE) those transmissions are guaranteed to fail. Then again I wouldn't buy a domestic any day. The only reason I actually even bought my caravan is so I wouldn't feel bad driving it hard as hell, and I use it as the junkyard van, all the parts we get from the junkyard all go in the van to bring back to the shop. My Grand Caravan is on the 4th transmission, that's not even the worst part I think the transmission is slipping again, but I won't be changing again just gonna junk the piece of crap.

Yea is is sad, I was originally keeping track of failed trannies with email. I had at one time over 90 owners email me because of my long thread on the Lexus owners club site. All wanting info and explaining their predictatment. I always suggested to everyone to file a complaint with the NTHSA do to safety concerns...I know mine failed 60 miles out in the Great Salt Lake two states away....

Sorry about your trip. I can imagine your mood in that situation.

I just replaced my trans due to that I will move from Milwaukee to Dallas, for fearing the car would break down during the trip. Cost me $$$

I do filed to NTHSA, and I think many users did. However, I think the only effective way is to sue Toyota for the poor design.
