Lubrication points?
I received a flyer from the dealership for an oil change and lubricant special.
An oil change is easy to do, what exactly are they lubricating and where are the lubricant points on our cars? Is there a list available?
I found this general link on autopedia, i assume these might be some of the lubrication points.

Some of the new palacial Lexus dealerships have windows from the waiting room to the service bays. I don't think you will find mechanics doing any lubing as part of an oil change at most Lexus dealerships (my opinion), but maybe some do.
I think the "lube" term is a hold-over to olden days when all cars had grease fittings that needed regular lubing.
The lube points shown in your hyperlink are good ideas, but I just don't think most dealerships regularly do this kind of stuff. At least not for the $40 and $50 oil changes.

I agree with Bob- Maybe some of them do that stuff, but I would be amazed if they did. I have never seen any who have. When I was a teen ager working in a dealership in the small town I grew up in I did lube work and did that kind of lubing, but I think they would look at you cross eyed and stutter if you asked them if they lubed all those points.

As for me, that is generally what I use. Depends on how the hinge is made. I have several different types of lubricant in spray cans. I prefer the lithium in the spray can just because it's easier to use. It's a little tough to apply the WL with a brush neatly. I don't particularly like WD-40, but if the hinge is getting a little dry and creaky, I will use it to try and get it in on the pin.
