Default Nakamichi stereo no sound

My radios sound started getting weaker and weaker and now fully quit. I am guessing the factory amp gave out. Anyone else ever experience this?

the radio seems fine. The tape deck which i use a "Bluetooth" tape to stream from my phone was the last to stop producing sound. But the sound slowly faded throughout a few days. I believe the amp is what failed. I found one on ebay from the Midwest for $63 so I decided to try that first.

There is lot of sound processing done by the head unit. Chances are higher for HU to go bad.

To test out the amp, if you can locate the input lines, touch them with metal and it should produce a buzz. Don't short out with other traces. Most common problem in the Amp is the power supply.

Your approach of replacing the bad unit seems like the right approach. I hope your guess is right.

These lead me to believe it may be the amp. Thank you for the hopes. I hope its the right call too. But also this cooler morning it started working again. So I will run it till it shuts off again.
