Did he say that doesn’t drone? Sounds pretty loud imo.

Yes, it pretty much sounds like an Invidia full exhaust + PPE EL headers with just a muffler delete. However, I would only entertain the idea of just resonator delete, potentially on my Invidia.

Update on my Invidia exhaust, which I installed by myself. So about a month ago the damn P0430 code showed up and knew right away it could be the gasket between the headers flanged and invidia midpipe. I loosened up the the connections and tried to line them up better while tightening the connections. So far no cel after 200miles since it happened. If it does show up again, I went ahead and ordered the Grimspeed 3" gasket that Sunny and Nigel ended up using. These gaskets are metal and noticeably way better quality. I also noticed there was a minor leak visible from the driver side connection of axleback and midpipe. I just tightened the connection again and I'm not too concern about that minor leak since it's passed the O2 sensors. BTW I'm currently using the provided gaskets by Invidia.

If you end up needing to replace the gaskets, then I'm a fan of the ones from Vibrant. You'll need 2.75" (pn 1465) for the midpipe, and 3" (pn 1458) for the manifold/header connection. A thin coat of copper RTV on both sides of the gasket doesn't hurt either. Haven't measured that weird donut gasket for the axle-back section, but that style shouldn't need to be replaced like a typical 2-bolt gasket.

Do yourself a favor and pick up othe copper RTV exhaust sealant. Some people think it's ugly but honeslty you aren't under the car unless it's up on the lift, but it give you some piece of mind. I was VERY liberal with it. I used it on between the grimmspeed gaskets by the headers to the invidia midpipe, then put it around the flange. Then I LIGHTLY used just a smidge on the midpipe that connects with the 2.75" gaskets. No where near as much as the front as you can see.

Just as mentioned above the doughnut gasket should be fine. I'll have to measure my spares when I finish cleaning the garage. And I'll post more pictures.

I might do that once I get the CEL again and install the Grimspeed gaskets I bought. it certainly would not hurt adding sealant.

I had the exhaust shop put sealant when I got mine installed. It had a weird plasticky smell for the first few drives, but it went away after a few times it went away, Never had any issues and it has been on for 3+ years.

So the CEL finally came back so I will be installing the grimspeed next weekend. When you applied the copper rtv did you apply in the gasket first or just the connecting flange surfaces where they connect? Is this what you used:

Permatex 81878 Ultra Copper Maximum Temperature RTV Silicone Gasket Maker, 3 oz. Tube

Apply to both sides of the gaskets, wipe off excess once things tightened back up.

I was a little extra and installed this small gasket to "fill up" the recess on the header side to give the flat gasket more surface to seal up on. Probably not needed for those thick grimmspeed gaskets though. I'm just using 3" vibrant gaskets.

Yep, exactly what I did.

I filled in the recessed area on the stock flange since obviously the flat gasket will not fill that void at all. Then I put sealer on both sides of the gaskets. I lightly tightened it down but did NOT torque it to spec. I believe the directions state to wait 1 hour before torqueing to spec. The theory behind that is that the sealant firms up rather than squishes out when you apply the correct torque to the bolts. I think it was perfect timing because by the time I got to the end of the mufflers lining everything up then came back to where the front exhaust pipes were it was probably an hours time.

Then after I torqued it to spec I took my finger with sealant around it and went on the entire outside edge of the flange as you can see in the picture I posted. That looks the messiest but it's not seen unless the car is in the air. Whether that does anything, who knows. I'll look here in a month or two and see if it burned/came off.

That is the exact sealant I used.

Just installed my grim speed gaskets and vibrant 2.75 gaskets for the mid pipe and axle back connections. I used copper rtv for the 3” gaskets and tried to fill in the void where the stock gasket normally goes in the headers flange and very small amount on the vibrant gaskets. The grim speed gaskets are really nice quality gaskets, I can see why they have worked so far. I hope this fixes the cel, fingers crossed.
