i was thinking about the rr-racing tune for the RCF, but is it worth it? I heard the gains are so minimal like 15-17hp, to where its not worth. Also it only shows a tune for 2015 and 2016, it wont work with a newer model?
Peak gains are not that high, but you gain a lot in the midranges from what their dynos showed. You will feel a big bump in the middle rpms. Yes, it is for the 2015 and 2016

I wouldn't say 17hp gain for $499 isn't worth it. How much gain do you want for $500?
Put an exhaust on for say, 30hp and that'll cost you $2000 plus labor.
Alec from RR Racing here - we offer two options for the 2015/2016 RCF(2017+ is in the works), both a traditional bench flash where you send in your ECU to be flashed along with a remote tune. The remote tune means we would send out a tuning device/cable for you to flash the car and then return the device to us. Upon receipt, we would refund the $550 deposit for the device/cable. Both are going to net the same power/tq but just differences in flashing methods.
Gains are noticeable on a bone stock application, along with improvements in throttle response. When paired with exhaust, headers and intake is where you typically see closer to 440-445whp/395ft-lbs.

It is on the RR racing site. It is not +17 whp peak. It is the area under the curve gain (and corresponding midrange torque). Simply a "thicker" powerband by more area under the curve. The peak HP gain is around +7 or +8 whp I believe.

I must be mistaken. I got the impression it was 17whp from a bone stock set up. i went to the site and the dyno graph shows a car that already had headers and exhaust with no tune and one with headers exhaust and tune....no bone stock.
from my experience with tunes on different platforms, the tune itself on a NA platform won't add a ton of measurable HP & TQ peak gains. The bulk of the gains will come from in between the power curve, where normally the RC F might be doggy from 3500-5000 the tune will liven that area up substantially. You will be "faster" with the same or just a bit more HP/TQ.
