Default A Program cannot be read. Please consult to a dealer.

Battery was weak and had it replaced today but now my infotainment shows "A Program cannot be read. Please consult to a dealer". Removed the negative battery terminal for over 30 minutes then reconnect. Issue remains. Anyone have a solution to this? Scheduled a service with Lexus dealer for Thursday but hope to find a solution before my appointment. No audios or any infotainment functions.

Try disconnect again, wait 15-30 minutes. Reconnect battery then press Start button once to turn on accessories but don't start engine, press power/vol button to turn on radio, infortainment should say loading. Once loading is complete everything should return back to normal.

I got the same suggestions on the internet and also the service manager. Will try again. Just got home from work. I think Accessories mode is two push without pressing the brake. I did it once at work with one push and did not resolve. Will try pushing the start button twice this time. One push does not power up the infotainment system. Two push does.

No luck. After 30 minutes battery disconnect and two push accessory mode the system would keep rebooting with message "Checking map disk in progress. Please wait for a moment" for a few times then finally "A Program cannot be read. Please consult to a dealer."

UPDATE:
Tried to read the old SD Card and could not view any data or file. SD Card not detecting on PC. I suspect the SD Card failed when I changed the battery. I ordered a $20 used SD card on ebay with the same part number 86271-78011 0910. Received it, tried it and failed to work also could not view any files on the SD Card. Returned to Seller for refund. Searched the internet and found that people were using GEN08 map update and that using previously used SD Card is not possible. Found sealed and unused PT219-GEN08-18 for North America Map (86271-78015 1700) for $200 asked ebay seller whether it will work work 2015 RC-F and he confirm yes but no return accepted (took a risk). Received today and the infotainment still show the "Checking map disk in progress. Please wait for a moment" then reboots. When I took the RCF to the dealer they say I needed part number 86271-78013 (which is for canada navigation which may be why I cannot load North America map). I check part number 86271-78013 on lexuspartsnow.com which sells for $869 (retail $1155; local dealer want even more). The description is different from the map update and it seems to include the infotainment software also. Be advise I am located on Guam so none of the navigation work on Guam anyway just need to get past the system trying to load the map. Most of the high trimmed Lexus comes with NAV that are totally useless because there is no map for Guam. I guess the USA infotainment system is a bit different. We don't have Enform features so Guam model must used a different region head unit. For almost a month I am unable to access infotainment.

Anyone interest in buying the Pn: PT219-GEN08-18 North America Map Update SD Card for RC-F 2015-2017? Send me PM if interested with a reasonable offer.

I was able to find another Seller selling 86271-78013 for $225. Currently check on return policy. Or take the plunge and purchase what the dealer recommend at $869!!

HELP!!! ANYONE HAVE SOME GOOD SUGGESTIONS?

Thanks for the update. Software is always a crapshoot with the nav systems. I've played with enough of it to know they're constantly making it more difficult to make unauthorized changes.

Default UPDATE: Infotainment system FIXED!!!

Just want to give people update on my headache experience so they won't have to go through what I went through.

SPECIAL NOTES:
  1. Don't bother purchasing the used micro SD Card from ebay. They won't work. The Lexus head unit is paired with the micro SD Card once it is loaded. A new unused micro SD card can be read on a PC but once it is paired with a head unit it will be lock and you will no long be able to view any files on the micro SD Card. (There is a software that you can buy to unlock the micro SD Card about $1400+ which may not cost effective for DIY repair -
    ).
  2. Only way to use the used micro SD Card is if the head unit is placed on "Unpaired" serviced mode which can only be done at the factory refurbishment. You can send your head unit for exchange with Lexus. (base on TSB L-TT0127-13)
  3. A new head unit will cost you about $6000 retail (not sure on the core exchange price - contact your Lexus dealer). You can purchase used head unit off ebay (range in price $800 to $1600) that is missing the micro SD card you still need to purchase a new micro SD Card to get the maps. If the head unit boots up then you need to purchase only the update micro SD Card (about $220 retail; $190 online) if not you will need to purchase the full micro SD Card ($1300 retail; $900 online) that contain the head unit programs and not map updates only.
  4. If you are thinking about purchasing ebay used head units. Note the special cover plate number on the bottom left corner. That number must match yours. In my case I have a 2015 RCF with Mark Levinson the model show P10751. Non Mark Levinson will have a different plate number. The head unit has part number 86130-24021 (the last digit refers to the model year). For example 86130-24021 = 2015, 86130-24022 = 2016, 86130-24023 = 2017 model year. For 2018+ the head unit changed along with the larger screen size.
THE FIX:
I found a ebay seller with the identical head unit with the original paired micro SD Card for about $400 (was about to purchase it; he now increased the price to $800+) until my Lexus dealer informed me that they have a spare head unit head unit with paired micro SD card from a 2017 RC350 that they would like to try. As a test the dealer installed head unit and it fixed my issues. Therefore the problem was with the head unit. He then used the map update I had purchased earlier PT219-GEN08-18 (p/n: 86271-78015 1700) and the head unit is updated with the latest map (again useless on Guam). I wish he didn't use the update so I could of sold it to recover some cost.

Wow, that's nuts for just changing the battery. Hopefully the dealer was kind enough to not charge you for the fix.

agreed, insane. I still don't actually understand what happened and how it could have been avoided. I understand the dealer connects something to the car to prevent complete loss of power, for settings etc. Would that have mattered? I know I need a battery and was just going to swap it out....

I replace the battery twice before on the RC-F and never have any issues. It seems that a voltage spike cause the head unit to reset and failed to load from micro SD Card. Maybe bad micro SD Card or maybe bad head unit. Don't really know. Just happy dealer was able to resolve it even when my car is out of warranty. I did pay for the labor but not for the head unit.

I have the same problem today, your unit kept flashing lights when trying to turn on?

So after a lot of headache, the only solution was to change the radio?

Yup. Changing the head unit was only fix. Check ebay for used units.

Default Nooooo

So I’ll let my girlfriend take my car to yoga and several hours after she had gone back I noticed the car was still on the on position. It was fine and perfectly normal and all, but my screen says the exact same thing! Mine brought up a code to replace the Mayday battery, but perhaps that might not be the case.

Hate replying to an old post, but since this whole thread got bumped...

When replacing the battery, you need to let the radio "boot up" completely. The easiest way is to keep foot OFF the brake pedal and tap the start button twice [IGN ON / ENGINE OFF]. Then wait for the radio to boot. After it's up, shut car off, then start it normally. This process also syncs the ECU to the engine sensors.

What seems to happen is that someone will try to start the engine immediately after applying power, but the engine cuts off right away. They kill the power then try again and the engine will start start the second time (because now the sensors are in sync), but they actually removed power during that boot up sequence. The radio then loses it's mind.
