People will pay 10,000 plus for a ladies purse if has the right designer label. Of course, you can show it off by parading up and down town with it, but kind of hard to show off your Lexus overpriced battery to the hoi polloi.
When I saw this thread I thought it was posted as a joke, that there was a typo. So I googled the part number and the cheapest I saw was $690. This is shown as an OEM battery, but none of the listings show the specs for the battery. Unbelievable.

This battery advertisement is a perfect example of why Lexus owners become alienated with their dealer experience. There is no way, IMO, that Lexus can justify the price of this part. Not when one can buy a new dependable name brand battery for around $125.00 vs. $700.00... And then the SM lies and says that it will deteriorate within a year.
What a load of BS...

Oh, I don't know, perhaps that $702.46 rather than $88.33 implies that there's something other than dealer greed here.
But I did notice that the battery for a ES330h goes for $311 at that same OEM parts site.

He found that price at a Lexus dealer, not a web parts supplier. He posted it as it stood out, not that anyone here would actually buy it at that price. He also found a much better price on a superior battery somewhere else. I guess that's what you were missing.
On the parts site posted by pab12, the part number posted by the OP is $696.84 and is an oem battery for an LS (after market battery listed for $105.35). This part number is on several web parts suppliers' sites.
The part number posted by pab12 is for an ES.
