What was the commercial about and how did RCF fit into their narrative?

That is a funny way to promote a "sports" SUV. I have baby stroller, baby seat, daughter, wife and the whole 9 yard. I keep utility and high performance separate. Quite black and white for me.
I think this is just a tongue in cheek way of saying their SUV can be both practical and “sporty”/fun to drive.
But even Ford can’t be stupid enough to imply their SUV is going to compete performance wise with an RCF or Ferrari - since everyone knows it would be eaten alive. But yes, it can fit a big teddy bear. We can give them that
And more importantly for Ford, it got us taking about a vehicle we probably wouldn’t otherwise talk about - so a marketing win there....

Commercials like this are why I get guys in minivans that try to hang with me from time to time. They quickly learn that this isn't an ordinary Lexus. Originally Posted by Limelight

I love how the crap they are trying to stick in the RC would never fit in the Ford either. I'm sure the guy that saw that commercial that was in the market for a 60-70k sports car instantly went "you know why was i even looking at a 2 door V8 when i could have a mid entry level SUV to haul my Layzboy..." I'm sure you hit your target market there Ford, keep it up.
Still never not funny to see people strap mattresses and furniture to tiny cars in real life though.

When I can rent a full sized pickup from Lowes or Home Depot for $25 an hour, I see no point in attempting this kind of foolishness. And yes, that bear would have been difficult to stuff inside that particular SUV as it isn't all that big inside either. This is the whole reason I see no need to buy a truck of any kind. I have the penalty of driving and insuring a truck all the time with only very occasional benefits. If I started racing cars, I would buy a truck for sure, but it wouldn't be an SUV, it would be a much bigger unit.
As soon as I saw this thread I knew exactly which commercial this was. Silly to advertise an suv but compare it against the space of a two door sports coupe, would have been funnier had the Ford Mustang been one of the cars people were trying to shove skis into that obviously won’t fit. Funny commercial though.
Its just dumb..just dumb...
Now, I own a Tacoma and an SUV (highlander) but you know what...you can RENT vans for like $25 a day or pickups from Home Depot for around the same price. Why the hell would you buy an entirely new vehicle for that two times a year you need to carry something huge.
$100 a year in rental fees sure beats a $300 a month car payment.
