Default Gears

Does anyone make replacement rear gears or ever changed them? I was thinking this would be a good mod but all of my experience is with mustangs and camaros. I have not found any replacements or seen anybody post about changing them. Thanks for any info you can provide.

On ISFs they swap the IS350 differential into their ISFs (numerically higher/shorter), but heard mixed opinions on it. It increases low gear acceleration at the cost of high speed acceleration and reduces top speed.

RCF essentially revs much higher, but has the same identical ratios designed for the ISF so for RCF, it is more optimized for higher speed race track or roads like Nurburgring or Autobahn etc.

Interesting, do you know the stock ratio? I know the trans is geared for high end, more top speed but gearing can really help down low.

Stock differential is 2.93:1.

Yeah, would be nice going to more like 3.55 or 3.73 ratio.

Has anyone put that in this rear? Is it the same? I wonder if this would affect the torque vectoring.

That may be a very good compromise ratio on top speed vs launch.
Anybody have a part number? I’m assuming a bolt in conversion.
This is very interesting!!!
now I have to do some research!

Would love to see some transmission gear mods in the future.

agreed, it feels slower off the line and in some gears (3rd I think) because they are so long. Shorter would torpedo the mpg though which may be one reason Lexus avoided it. Not that many here will care about mpg. THey had to make a v8 car that could live in a CAFE world.
