IS350 gear ratios
Can anyone post the gear ratios of the IS350's 6-speed auto ? I searched the forums and google with no luck. All I could find is the final drive ratio which is 4.083.
Thanks

Perfect gears for this car. I used to put 4.10 gears in Mustangs and MAN it made them quick. There's a reason this is a low 5 second 0-60 car beyond just the horse power...

No way. That would be aprox. 160 mph and as you all know, it's limited to 142. Redline is 6,600 rpm. It tops out in 5th gear at 5,400 rpm and in 6th gear at 4,450 rpm.

I would have thought it would be more than 160 mph...
My question was asking if it would be possible even without the speed limiter. Because it seems like with as much power as the IS has, it would be hard to push the engine at 6600 rpm with a .59 ratio, but I don't know...
... Because if 4450 is 142 mph, shouldn't 6600 be over 200 mph??? ... Or would that only be true on a manual transmission?

Did the gear ratios stay the same in the 2nd gen IS? I have heard people say that the 2006-2007 were faster than the 2011s. I almost wouldn't mind a 3.75 gear ratio for higher mpg. I think it would be better on tires when you launch as well.

Yeah, the AWD are different. As I said, some people claimed that the earlier ones were faster. 4.08 is very aggressive. I heard that Infiniti owners are getting similar gearing. Stock for stock, as long as the IS gets traction, it would beat a Infiniti every time.
