Default pre collision detection system

The car comes with this option. Is there a way to deactivate it?

should be a button for it to the left of the steering wheel with the rest of the feature buttons

page 291 of the manual:

I sold cars for 21 years Retired now for five years but I'm still active with the dealership and drive a lot of new cars. I hate that feature! And I turn it off right away when I drive these new cars. Lane departure is equally terrible

I don't know if you are referring to the one where the car brakes itself, but if you are referring to the cruise control radar, just push away the the cruise control stick and it will be turned off.

How close were you to the cars?

It's under the dash--driver's side. Look for a button as I recollect. I also believe in sport + with expert activated, the PCS is deactivated.

The manual image is not good.. Like ISF001 said, its under the dash.
It is centered on the steering column and that about center of brake pedal. You can not see it from the drivers seated position. Feel under the dash for it or get down under the steering column and look for it.

Hey, now you're being Jmeds man. Ha ha. It's a dedicated button recessed under the steering wheel column. But there's also a button to reset the TPMS system, so you have to get your head under there with a flash light, and look for the right button. The one for the TPMS is a momentary switch, and the PCS is a toggle, but if you press the TPMS it'd reset the system at whatever tire pressures you have, and you want the correct tire pressures when doing that, or could get erroneous tire pressure warnings. My tire pressures were way too high from the dealership, so set them at 36 cold all around, and reset the system, so now everything is the way it should. Hope this helps.

It's the same option, but 2 entirely different systems. Even if you have the radar cruise option off and deactivated, the PCS still works. It's dangerous in many situations. And yes, expert or all nannies off automatically deactivates it, but you can only engage expert in sport+, not sport. And that means the fake noise. Oh, and when you deactivate it, there's another annoying dash light all the time. Now I wish my car didn't have that option. Never use it. Plus you cannot change the distance setting once activated on this POS.
