Default Cell Phone Modification

So I got tired of not having a spot to put my phone that I could easily view/use when needed so I splurged and spent wayyyy too much money on a cell phone holder. I did a lot of research before I pulled the plug and ended up going with ProClipUSA which offers the best of the best when it comes to functional cell phone holders specifically designed for each car. Total cost was $95, which is too much for what it is but I've tried 3 different "less expensive" versions that were top rated and they just failed to perform. The Kenu Airframe Plus was awesome in my last Lexus (air conditioning vent mounted) but it sucked on the RCF's air vents.

Don't mind the crappy pics.....I had to use my POS Android tablet to take pics of the phone in the cell phone mount.

You need that vent in summer man. At least in TX. Hey, may I ask you why you or anybody need their freaking phones visible when you're driving? Mine always goes in the center console. Heck, the damn car even reads messages, if you want to. And you can put voice commands if you want to use the nav, but distracting yourself trying to read something on that screen is just plain dangerous IMO. But to each his own.

I dont use it while driving unless it's calling out directions if I'm too lazy to program it into the car NAV. As for the car reading messages, I haven't figured that out yet......again, lazy.

I use the center console as well. Everything necessary can be done via Bluetooth and voice commands. No need for a phone to be in sight.

Default Phone Holder

I bought this from Amazon;

Amazon.com: Magnetic Car Mount, eLander™ Air Vent Magnetic Universal Car Mount Holder with 360 rotate, Tilt, Swivel, for Iphone 6 6 Plus 5s 4s, Samsung Galaxy S6 S5 S4and Most of the Mobile Cell Smartphones: Cell Phones & Accessories Amazon.com: Magnetic Car Mount, eLander™ Air Vent Magnetic Universal Car Mount Holder with 360 rotate, Tilt, Swivel, for Iphone 6 6 Plus 5s 4s, Samsung Galaxy S6 S5 S4and Most of the Mobile Cell Smartphones: Cell Phones & Accessories

$14 - clips to the air vent - I have it on the passenger vent as 99% of the time I'm solo in the car. Works great, very thin metal plate goes in the case holding the iPhone. Easy to read the phone and easy to take on and off.

Since it's using magnets, wouldn't it mess up your phone?

Never had any issues with it causing interference with the phone. The vents on the RCF are also fairly stiff so the mount doesn't shift at all when driving.

I should add that I use the exact same mount toystry does to hold my phone in the boat - it's pretty much bombproof and the charger mount makes it ideal for using Nav on the phone all day without killing the phone. In the boat though the phone goes in and stays there for the day and I take it out when we dock. I'm in and out of the car all the time so prefer the ease of the magnetic mount for mount/dismount.

My phone stays in my pocket. It bluetooth paired with the car with no problem. I can even send text messages or use the phone nav via "Hey Siri". I don't understand the need to have the phone visible?
