Official Lexus RC thread
That comment caught me by surprise, because owning a 2nd generation IS350 I know that the low end acceleration from 0 to 40 (~1st gear) is probably the biggest strength for this car, provided that traction controls are turned off (pedal dance for '06, trac off button for 07+).
Hell, even against its competitors the IS350's 0 to 40 acceleration still remains supreme. The 335i beats it to 60 only because the 335i's 40 to 60 acceleration is stronger (as is all subsequent acceleration).
They've already said that the RC350/300h would be released late 2014. We can presume the RC-F would be released a short time after that. They may announce the F-Sport versions at Detroit too, in which case we'll expect those to be released at the same time as the base RC350/300h models.
And the RC really shouldn't be compared with the 2 series; it's a different class size-wise and interior spec-wise. It's target is the 4 series/A5.

Considering the fact that the IS350 out-slaloms the current 335i and both RCF and M4 are based on their respective IS and 3 series platforms, looks like a pretty good bet that the RC-F may be more than the M4 can handle.
The M4 is already operating from an inferior base platform compared to the RC-F (handling-wise). Now it remains to be seen how their respective powertrains stack up to each other : NA V8 vs turbo IL6.

The nike swoosh headlights look less like lightning bolts. I like it. Looks like they rounded out the bumper inserts, so the light reflects off a more curved angle instead of the sharper angle on the is350.
You guys have more understanding than I do. I'm seeing nothing but horrific styling here...

In discussion we thought the design might be "polarizing" to many..... Either love it or hate it.
I love it!
I have a feeling the ISF will be back after a year or 2... They probably pushed back the release of it due to working on the RCF/GSF. Mark templin has already stated he wants more true F models in the Lexus lineup.

My only thought is the IS F is delayed until the new engines come. The RC F is coming with the same tuned 5.0 from 2007 technically…..
I do go with most here that it seems to be a non-brainer to just have an IS F and RC F at the same time. The Germans are hell bent on shoving M/AMG/RS down all our throats..and its tasty
