of course i'm talking real world where 90% of driving doesn't go past 4000 rpms.
lets not fool ourselves. going with a 5.0L v8 instead of a turbo v6 would be a bit old school... but reliability would be high because the design has been proven for so long.
the biggest knock against lexus is handling/driving feel. having a heavier v8 up front would not be a good first step in the right direction.

I'd definitely prefer the V8 and if it comes out within the next 2 years or so, it might be my next car. The V6 is nice but it's not something I'd even consider purchasing for myself. I like the looks of the RC and I've been away from Lexus for a while now. A V8 powered RC will most likely get me back into Lexus again.

The RC coupe looks perfect. I hope the production looks exactly the same. Because the proportions are perfect and the design has that classical Lexus finesse to it that Is lacking in this spindle grill era.

Guess time to start putting some $$$ back. Assuming an "RC-F" will be coming in August 2014 along with the standard and F-Sport models. Really hope a manual transmission is available too, though not likely. What's Lexus' deal with not making an optional manual transmissions??? I will be looking forward and working with my dealer to have 1 ready for me. Helps too I have a $12K a year raise coming in 5 months.
I have no interest in the BMW 4 series. To me personally they're overpriced (a 428ix similarly built like a 3IS 350 F-sport is $52.5k) and they're not that particularly attractive. Only benefit I see is the maintenance package (think BMWs still can be built with manual transmissions too).
Mercedes C350 Coupe with comparable options to my 350 came out to $53000, but I actually like the C and E class coupes. Of course though When I do go look at the RC-F i'll be comparing it to the likes of the Mercedes C63 AMG and others.

Kudos for Lexus to differentiate the RC exterior from the IS. Which imo is more appealing and exciting to look at compared to the C-class coupe and 4-series coupes that still shares the same front end as the sedans. Good thing Lexus is not following the one-size-fits-all sausage line-up as the Germans ... now let's see the RC-F & GS-F!
