Default 2015 Lexus GS F: This Is It (another Japanese photoshop speculation)

If you're looking for the Japanese equivalent of the BMW M5, the 2015 Lexus GS F would be it. Leaked images now reveal that it will come with a 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V8 producing 465 horsepower. If it's also lighter than the German competition, we might be in for a blast.

As you can see in scans from this Japanese magazine (that appear to have been shot in Los Angeles), the GS F has air intakes and a sporty carbon fiber body kit makes sure you get the picture at the red light, while the V8's sound rumbles through the now signature stacked double exhausts seen on the Lexus IS F before it.

But will this be enough for those looking for an alternative super sedan other than a Jaguar

The proportions of the first image look a little odd (perhaps due to curvature of the magazine?) but I'm sure that's not correct.

I think it looks spectacular, makes the M5 look like a Corolla. It seems to be a bit underpowered, however, considering the M5 is 560 HP, which is probably significant enough to drive people to BMW unless this is quite a bit cheaper.

This was posted awhile ago already.

I hope the GS F looks nothing like this - tacked on body kits dont belong on a car of this caliber.

Yes lots of interesting info leaking out of the New Orleans - International Lexus Dealer Meeting / Conference

On Tuesday a photo leaked on twitter of the 2015 RC-F being tested @ NOLA Motorsports Park..

But that photo was quickly taken down..

The 2015 GS F or even 2016 GS F will have a facelift. The GS debut was 2012 so 4 years seems feasible for me for a facelift, which is what the GS F is gonna carry.

Its been posted before in the RC-F thread.

But we should really have a new thread just for the GS-F, no?

Default 2015 Lexus GS F "Uncovered" or "Digitally Covered"?

The crew over at Car&Driver is calling out Jalopnik for…calling rendered shots of the upcoming 2015 Lexus GS F "the real deal".

Before we tell you what we think, we'll just say that the scanned images are from Japanese magazine Best Car, which is notorious for its future car renders that are often portrayed as near official imagery. We'll add that Worldcarfans had posted the same story in September titled "Lexus GS F spied virtually undisguised" with the author also throwing in the phrase "Best Car's render" at the end.

So what it is? Well, in our opinion, Best Car snapped some spy shots and then had its artists enhance the vehicle color- and detail-wise adding, for example, hugely exaggerated front fender vents – seriously, did you notice how deep they are; you can probably hide a kid in there!

In other words, the answer to the question we posed in the title is "digitally covered". For an unmolested look at the upcoming GS F super saloon, check out our scoop pictures here.

Looks beautiful BUT here we go again with the insane HP deficiency. I understand balance is key, but for Gods sake build a balanced car that has as much power as ALL of the competition. 550 hp is the new standard for these types of super sedans. To come in at 465 is unacceptable . I hope thats not accurate . Even if we consider HP/weight ratios Lexus is till behind unless this GS is a featherweight and weighs in at a very considerable amount less than the M5 and the others . When they built the LFA they were serious. This to me doesn't look as serious. Only time will tell. Im still rooting for Lexus. Dont let us down

With news of a Twin Turbo future I don't think 461-480hp will last long

Cool thanks Hoovey. I am looking to go much higher HP on the next ride. I have been wanting a GTR for years but after driving one I may also consider less hardcore options like the ISF( replacement) or GSF. This puts a smile on my face. Seems like the entire industry is going turbo. Good thing for us. It will be so easy to boost power

This should be closed. Old pictures, old (non)news. People might get confused thinking this is the actual car.

The biggest problem I see with this is that the 2015 GS should be refreshed with a new front end, full spindle, new tail lights, etc.....and this mockup doesn't include those changes. So this is most likely just a running mule, and NOT representative of the final car.

You are correct and this image has been out for awhile now. 2015 Should have the full spindle. This is just one of those many renderings from a Japanese auto magazine
