Pure speculation here, but remember when there were rumors that the 3IS will be based on a stretched GT86/FRS chassis for handling, but that never panned out?

What if the rumor is true for the RC/RC-F instead?

Because I see a lot of FRS in the camo'd car's profile, but in a larger scale...

Would be great if it was. Just a thought.

Also Yamaha box behind the GS-F... woohoo!

My suspicions :

GSF = 4 door High Performance Sedan
RCF = 2 door Coupe based on the GSF

ie both based on the larger GS chassis

PS : that's it. Holding off all car purchases until the RC/GS-F drops on the market.

Why not?

Still cheaper than equivalent model from BMW. Based on the now proven GS L10 chassis that is kicking BMW butt in handling. Probably more reliable, easier to maintain and based on the direction BMW is going, better steering feel and driver feedback. Probably lighter and more tossable as well, considering how overweight the M5 has been.

With BMW taking so many backward steps in handling and driver engagement, this generation may well be the pivotal moment when the M3/M4 is toppled from its throne and the Lexus RC-F could be the car to do it.

Very nice...thanks for sharing. The hood scoop could be a little bigger for a more aggressive look.

As Mordecai mentioned...the rear bumper side bulge looks a big much.

Overall, it's very impressive.

Lexus will use the LF-LC cocept car in Super GT racing next year according to Japanese Autosport. This means there will be two coupes as the rules state you have to base your race car on a street vehicle.

So this article is lying then?

Talk about killing two birds with one stone – our spy photographers have just sent us the first ever pictures of Lexus' upcoming IS coupe dressed up in never seen before F performance guise.

Lexus' last generation IS F was limited to sedan form, but the Japanese automaker will take aim at BMW's upcoming M4 with a new IS F coupe model. Based on the latest IS sedan, the IS coupe is expected to make its world debut sometime next year.

Spotted testing earlier today in Europe, the Lexus IS F coupe will arrive with a more aggressive front fascia sporting air intakes on either side. It also appears as though the IS F will receive a unique front grille treatment, which should help set the car apart from lesser IS models. Although difficult to say for certain, it looks like the IS F could arrive with a hood-mounted air scoop.

The IS F prototype spotted today was riding on sport wheels wrapped in chunky rubber. Large slotted rotors are clearly visible, indicating the IS F coupe will be capable of some serious speed.

Outback the IS F features a modest spoiler, wider wheel arches and Lexus' signature stacked F tailpipes.

Previous reports suggested the next-generation IS F would make use of the current car's 5.0L V8, but tougher European emissions standards may force Lexus to go in another direction. It's possible that we could see a smaller, turbocharged engine between the fenders of the next IS F. Whatever the case, look for the car to produce at least 450 horsepower, matching the rumored rating for the BMW M4.

The Lexus IS F coupe is expected to break cover sometime next year as a 2015 model.

Not Lying just misrepresenting information

Rumors of a high-performance sports coupe from Lexus could heat up after it was reported that the Japanese automaker has filed a trademark for the name "RC F" in the U.S. and Europe.

The "RC 350" name was actually trademarked back in November with the Australian Patent Office, setting off speculation that this new RC model could be car that’ll be based on the LF-CC Concept. Now that Lexus has followed that up with the trademark of "RC F," you can clearly see a pattern slowly developing akin to what the company already has with the IS and IS F models.

No confirmation has been made, but in the interest of full disclosure, Lexus’ "RC F" was filed under the United States Patent & Trademark Office #85770072 and the European Union #011314226.

We’ll be sure to update you on any new updates regarding this story. At the very least, it’s getting us really excited to see what Lexus has in store for all of us.

guys, dont spread unvalidated rumors... Lexus will not make car based on GT86 and this car is not based on GT86.

It is based on IS, and will be called RC.

not lying simply misrepresenting certain facts.

Are you sure about that? Those taillights look properly integrated unless they went too far by molding the wholes under the camo.

Seems to me that taillight shape is going to be the same but inside pattern could and should change.

Also if you look at the headlights you will see that one is HID and the other is LED setup.

Maybe Lexus is taking MB approach like with E Coupe which is actually based off C but looks like E to command premium price and leave room for "true" C coupe

BTW like some of us suggested there is no four door F variant here.
Car that everybody is speculating about being GS-F is actually RC-F without the camo, there are two of them
