Does anyone experience a jerk when downshifting btw 3rd and 2nd at around 20mph? I also get a jerk when coming to a slow stop in automatic, that jerk happens at around 5-10 mph. Are these normal or should I have the trans. checked?

Don't know about the 400 with E-shift, but I gate shift my 430 frequently and, in my experience, the 3-2 downshift isn't all that smooth and I also get a bump when, in auto, the tranny drops to first gear (in some circumstances). Since the Lexus tranny doesn't match revs when downshifting, this is normal behavior (compare downshifting a manual trans and dropping clutch without matching revs).

hmmmm, i dont seem to have this problem. replace your transmission fluids yet?
Fluid changed every 10k miles. Complete change, not just a drip and fill. All mounts new. Nothing bad. Just a bit harsher than other shifts. The lower gears have made the change a bit more pronounced which would make sense. at least on my end.
My fluids have been changed on a regular basis much like Pearlpower described, but I still have this same problem
I plan to have some service done this week, and i'll be sure to ask them about this issue, along with the sunroof making noise problem I'm having
. Thank for the insite all.

. Thank for the insite all. Dude, there have been a couple Tranny Solienoids go out on the GS from hard use of E-shift. PM VVTi, he's a Master Tech at Hennessy Lexus of Gwinnett or come to our car show there Saturday at noon.

I also get the jerk but only when e-shifting down from 3 to 2, and only at low speeds under engine braking as you mentioned. Sometimes I'm even lucky enough to get a sunroof crackle to go with it. I just dismiss it as a characteristic of the trans/programming.
