recently, meaning 2days ago. i notice that my transmission will go into 1st and second gear with a nice little punch but then afterwards 3rd gear feels very laggy(as if the car is holding back) and the rpms stick at 2500 for a few seconds while the car slowly gains speed, then when i reach about 60mph it feels normal. its similar to if you have a manual and your go into 1st gear than second, then you go int 4th. its that similar feeling i guess. i have a 97sc300 autom tranny. wondering if anyone has had this same issue and what could be the problem. my overdrive is deactivited so if im not mistaken its off.

 

You need new transmission fluid

Well yeah try putting in fresh transmission fluid first. how many miles on it?

Have you shifted manually through the gears to make sure they are all there? i would also scan to see if there are any stored codes in the trans.

Fluid cost $10 bucks or so, better to eliminate the cheapest options first.

My car use to do that, put in new fluid hasn't done it since.
