Are you RWD? I am AWD and don't notice a slip but our transmissions are jerky though. I read somewhere that the RWD had slip issues

found the video, I guessing the "slip" is at towards the end of the redline when there is some sort "lag" or "slip" between the gear changes.

yes RWD... Kinda wish I had an AWD though... does it handle better than the RWD when cornering?

I think this might be a 2014 year model only exception. We were able to bounce off of redline in manual shifting before the tune and now it translated to the auto shifting with the RR tune.

AWD is slow shifting compared to RWD IMO

On a BMW, you get 100WHP/100torque for the same price.
These aren't boosted like BMW's and with an NA BMW you'd pay the same price if not more for the same results. 💁

Is there a separate tune to flash once I upgrade my exhaust? Or is there only one tune for everything?

It's 1 tune basically that covers everything. So, you can get the tune, add an exhaust, it calibrates for it. You can add headers later down the road, and it will automatically recognize and calibrate for it, and so forth. Even when you go to Supercharge it, you simply contact us for the new tune at no cost.

So the tune will adjust for most bolt-ons whether done before or after, and a re-tune is only needed for something like a supercharger? Will the tune eliminate the low-speed deceleration back-fire that most seem to get from changing the exhaust?

That is correct. Whether you add it before any mods, mid way or after, it will recognize the difference and adjust for it, since it's already loaded in the tune to be able to adjust for them. In terms of the back fire, It MAY or MAY NOT help it. Lexus tends to run rich from the factory hence a cause of why it does backfire, we do lean out the car a little which also helps with MPG. On the other hand, if you have headers and a fairly free flowing catback, you will have that no matter what.

Thanks! Will the factory tune not adjust to mods, not adjust as well, or it will but just that you create a new setpoint to work from? I have a 350 so rather debating whether it's worth the 10hp/tq gain. Would expect having a freer-flowing exhaust (2.5") may accentuate the results, and good to hear that the MPG may improve a bit, although I do 90% city driving so rarely ever hit the upper revs. I will admit though that while some like it, the possibility of getting rid of or lessening that bang/puff is worth something(!). Never heard it before changing out the exhaust.

Also, regarding your intake -- is it because of the lack of the lack of valve cover vent that you do not recommend it without a tune, and is that only because one may get CELs?

Default Worth it if your expectations are realistic

I was looking at this but was trying to find someone who has done this? Is it worth the price? and do you have to leave the unit plugged in or is it a one time thing?

Wondering if anyone would be willing to loan me the unit and tunes to try out for some cash? I know that's probably a long shot .... $700 for a tune is a bit steep though...
if you expect a canned tune to take you to the next level of ***** to wall performance this is not for you. It is however imo a very good investment in the overall performance of my car, yes I gained noticeable delivery of the horsepower this time unlocked. The power is much smoother and the stretched out red line is much more fun to play with and not having the car automatically upshift hundreds of rpm’s short of that redline is a huge plus.
I bought the tuner the k&n and the intake tube together for 715 to my door. That’s a fair market price, it’s not steep.
For the future as I add more mods I’m sure the tuner can be updated to fit those mods and my car will respond like it should. I think it’s a great mod and it will serve my car well in the further. The intake tube? Waste of money, killed the intake noise and added zero performance value, it looks good but I don’t have exhaust yet so i miss the intake growl.

Considering it's only 10hp it's good to hear you noticed an improvement on your 350, so it must be more things like the fuel delivery and shifting that's been more of an effect. Would have expected more from the intake, even just from losing the accordion pieces, sound generator, and valve inlet, but maybe it helped with the overall effect of the tune. Do you notice a difference in all driving modes, particularly or better in any specific one?

To me it feels like the linear delivery of the power is the same across the modes, I did improve fuel economy about 10% for my driving habits which are a 65 mile round trip commute in the Santa Cruz mountains daily. Took a short trip to Tahoe and got a 25% increase from my base mpg on that trip which was also a lot of high altitude mountain driving. Doing a road trip to Oklahoma late August and that will be a good measure of highway mpg, as for the tube being part of the performance added, maybe, my next mod is going to be a full exhaust and I’m excited about that. I’ll post results of that for sure

Does the tune fix the factory throttle response? That would make it almost worth it alone, considering the response only vaguely represents your actual input.
