Default Flash 2017 IS300 ECU to IS350

The 2017 IS300 and IS350 seem to have the same engine. However the is300 maxes out at 255 hp while the is350 max out at around 305. I read on CL that the ECU is limiting the power on the IS300.

Can I flash the IS300 ECU to replicate the IS350? If so how?

AFAIK no one has done it yet. All of the people who've said it are only speculating at this point.

I'm pretty sure its the same motor in both cars. But the is350 is running port and direct injectors to yield a higher compression ratio. the is300 is only running port injectors Believe hence the lower hp rating.

Injectors have no effect on compression ratio. That is determined by piston shape, connecting rod length, etc. All things that affect the actual dimension of the combustion chamber.

There is a tune out there that allows the 300 to reach the HP levels enjoyed in the 350. I believe it's by OVTuning(?)

I have an IS 300, and it's most definitely direct-injected - that characteristic ticking sound of the injectors is a dead giveaway.

Lots of people have flashed their ECU for the IS 300. RR-racing and OVTunning both have hand held tuners. The engines are the exact same between the 300 and 350.

This might be a noobie question but why would one want to buy an IS300 with less hp than the IS350 then want to tune it to as if it's IS350 in hp? Based on the Lexus website, the IS300 average 26 mpg vs IS350 28 mpg. Price wise the IS300 start at $40,200 vs IS350 start at $41,370. I'm kinda confused why Lexus even come out with IS300 in the first place. Some with better knowledge please educate me on this.

You need to take a closer look at what you are comparing. AWD vs RWD. 2017 IS 300 in the USA only comes in AWD. This is also the gas mileage difference. AWD is a 6 speed vs the RWD is a 8 speed.

I know when I purchase My 2016 IS 300 is was about $4000 price difference between a IS 300 AWD and IS 350 AWD. Physically the only difference my IS 300 and the 350 is that mine doesn't have Automatic Variable Suspension. 2017 sticker prices have this closer to $3500. So if you don't care about AVS, you can save about $3000 and just do a aftermarket tune.

Thanks, I just realized that I'm comparing RWD vs AWD, but then again Lexus have IS350 AWD also. WTF? They did this with Gen 2 ISx50 where 06-10 AWD is only available with IS250 model and 11-13 it is available with IS350. Now with 14-Present, they have two models with the same exact engine with one being detuned. Weird.

Lexus needed an entry level AWD IS and that is why we have the IS300 now.

Canada Toronto Ontario price range is 10k$ CAD different compared IS300 AWD to IS350 AWD for 2017 IS model = 200T $40,150 / IS300 AWD $42,950 / IS350 AWD $53,350 F sport package additional charge of $3.500-$4000

Not to be noble high-self ,in my town ONLY ME DRIVE 3rd Gen IS350 AWD F-sport, yes Audi BMW Mercedes "All EYES ON ME BABY" back to the topic, $10k different is a big number bro well for our Canadians yes.

I'm shocked because Lexus USA comparing 300 to 350 only $1,500 different, Lexus Canada almost $11,000 dollars different ? why ? No wondering Canadian don't go for IS350 a lot, ill go to USA and live with Trump. By the way, people went for 200T or 300 because of MPG mileage, i didn't even know our Fsport 350 has A.V.S system until i popped up my hood at the shop. I fell in love with the car right away, AVS really effectives on gen3 IS350, the awesome 4 Modes they designed

Eco, Normal, Sport,and Sport+ , Eco = winter, Normal = Fall, Sport = Spring, Sport + - Summer ! 4 modes Perfect for 4 weathers .

You are comparing a base IS300 to a decently load FSport IS350.. If you compare package to package, IS300 FSport Series 2 = $49,100 vs IS350 FSport Series 2 = $53,350. Even at $4,250 difference I agree that is a steep price to pay for a few more ponies and AVS, especially when engine is the exact same!
