Exactly, when i had my 2001 IS300 i would change oil every 8,000 miles with no issues because 2J.
Turbo cars on the other hand i would recommend regular oil changes, especially with modifications.
yikes! looks like it is still suffocating from the air box. either get injen or put the BMS filter on that. I wouldn't spend a cent on this car in terms of performance until results are published. Buy a nice set of rims and suspension set up, it's the lexus way.

You might actually be surprised to know that I didn't gain any power with the BMS intake over the stock airbox with a drop in K&N filter.
