Default So I gutted out my primary cats

I was reading this post last night in the isf forum how another member gutted out his cats. My CEL was throwing a P0430 check engine light and my 02 sensors where good. I did not take any pictures but i will post a link of the post on the IS-F forum which was identical to what i got done. I gutted my two primary cats and i must say the car overall feels better. I believe this is due to the fact that my cats where already bad. Gas mileage overall went from 10 mpg city driving to 13 mpg and the car revs way smother and faster.

I expected the car to sound too loud for my taste so i went with my resonator but luckily i didn't have to even put my resonator back on. So right now i am running gutted primary cats i deleted my second cats and my resonator and i have a greddy sp2 exhaust. The car overall sounds good i feel more of a pull when i accelerate. When i first put my intake and exhaust i really didn't feel a difference, with the gutted cats i did not feel a crazy difference but it's noticeable. As of the CEL on the car it came out one time i deleted it with my OBII reader and i drove for another hour and it did not come up again but i know it will. Tomorrow i will provide sound clips so you guys can hear how it sounds.

this is the link to the post where i got the idea from.

How's the smell now that you have no cats? Noticeably strong? Are you gonna go with the O2 fix from PPE/Sikky?

Also that mpg sounds really awful, is that the only CEL code you're throwing? I can still manage 17-18 city in my F. In for updates, contemplating on doing this myself!

The smell isn't that bad and lol yes my mpg city driving is horrible is Manhattan so imagine but in highways i get 29 to 30mpg. I was thinking about doing the 02 sensor angle extender. Also that was the only code before the gutted cats now i get p0420 but once i deleted them i drove for a hour and it did not appear again but it will soon

^^You should post a video if it. I've been curious how much of a difference it would be when the primary cats are removed.

first video is cold start inside the cabin, the second video is revving inside the cabin and the third is from the outside. The third i should've done it better as you can only see one exhaust.

^^if you can provide acceleration clips of the instrumental cluster, it would definitely help out. If you can also use youtube to upload it on, it will even be better.
