i want to take off my cat and run straight pipe
untill mufflers as a temporary thing.

do you think this will sound alright?
would any check engine light go on if i
take off the the cat?

cats arnt as restrictive as people think, i cut mine after the cat and i personally think it sounds great. at first i just ran it without the mufflers and it wasnt not too loud but quite enough to not bring attention. last week i rented a pipe cutter from advance for free and cut it off the two resonators after the cat.

 

1. check with the laws in TX before you try to run catless.

2. i'm not sure if we have O2 sensors right after cats(ive never checked), but if so, if you decide to weld a stright pipe, youre gonna have to get a bung to re-install the o2 sensors so you dont get a CEL.

3. sound will be louder, but i recommend installing after market resonator.
