Default So I installed the Injen SP intake on my IS250

And I am pleasantly surprised that it's like perfect. No annoying whistle sound that happens with a lot of cars with intakes when light throttle is applied like maintaining 70mph on the freeway.

The sound is just barely louder than stock from idle-3k rpm, 3-4 starts getting loud, 4-6.5k it is ****ing loud. Makes my car sound super duper when it's not that fast. But wow did I guess right about having that right sound really makes the car that much more fun to drive.

Also, I get better gas milage, no noticeable loss in low end power during traffic/heat (I experienced this with a different intake a couple years back on this car), and also comes with a dry filter which I like since this is my daily and I am lazy so I don't have to clean that thing for like 50k miles.

Lastly, I saw the dyne Injen posts on their website, it was also posted on the ebay page where I got it from and it shows a solid +8-12hp/tq from 4k to redline and honestly I really do feel it. It's quite noticeable. The other intake I had on before felt NO faster, if anything slower. This one is legit. I am a satisfied customer in every way. Oh and I got the black one since I didn't want it to stand out and it was cheaper than the chrome anyways just thought I'd share!

Congrats on your injen intake! I used to have one on my is350 and it is by far one of the loudest intake on WOT. I've since moved on to F sport only due to it being CARB approved.

^^your injen intake came with a carb sticker? Thats the first for me to know. I guess they finally approved it. When I bought mines last year, it was not carb approved.

Yeah the one I bought from them before, the one that I didn't like overall looks exactly the same but this new "SP" series apparently it has some patented technology on the filter cone so it doesn't exceed the MAF with massive air and cause problems and I bet that's what also got it CARB certified.

Great to hear about your Injen intake. I'm looking to find one that is CARB-approved, but can't find one. May I ask where you got yours? Did you install it yourself, and if so, was it fairly simple as far as hoses and fittings or did it give you trouble? Thanks.

Did you get a wet or dry filter with it? I had a wet (oil type) one before but it was getting dried out and cracking so I picked up a blue dry filter recently.

I don't see any carb approved intakes for Lexus IS anywhere on Injen's web site. All the Lexus IS intakes (including SP series) say 'No CARB Off road use only' .
