Lol been done and WAY outside any real price range. I asked about this before. The guy who got closest to his car actually "working" with the swap has put more than I paid for my car into the build and is STILL throwing CEL's.

I do happen to have a 2jz hanging around, except to use it I'd have to leave my little brother with no wheels...which might be a good idea considering he has no idea what to do with a 850hp supra.

You asked for realistic and cheap; compared to your initial proposal a GTE swap is downright sensible.

If I trolled correctly, the one swapper out there is throwing idiot lights (VSC, TRAC). Not the same as a CEL that can be dialed out by your chosen management. I wouldn't expect the swap to fulfill all of the needs of those intertwined systems, but pull a couple bulbs and your instrument cluster is amber-free.

Dunno about transmission compatibility (bp/input shaft), but if you keep the build around 500hp (which is all you need unless you're bench racing) you could even keep the IS' (outstanding) transmission.

IMO, this is the only reasonable swap available. IF one was really necessary.

can I buy your 350 motor after you pull it out but before you realize what a huge mistake you've made?

If you've been reading the thread. I pulled the vq and it's harness. Never pulled the 2gr.

He also has the entire cost of the car and then some put into the build.

Considering that the g37 has all the same luxury features as the is350 (minus ventilated seats, guage back lights, and motorozed telescoping steering wheel) and I paid under a grand to have all of that and it all worked. It wouldn't have costed anywhere near the stratospheric number of a 2jz/everything works swap.

Again origional plan was to swap out EVERYTHING. Essentially making the car a lexus shell around an infinity power plant and electrical system. No lex ecu's sensors or anything. Good thing about it was that lexus loves to put an abundance of censors in their cars which meant there wasn't an instance of having a sensor and nowhere to put it.

Se' la vee or whatever. I'd still like to make to happen though I'd need another is350 and another totaled but still useable g37....fingers crossed?
