Was wondering if anyone has done some engine tampering yet in a 350

Far as I know there are no aftermarket parts to do either.

One guy sent away a stock piston to try and get a custom lower CR set made since the piston crown is a very specific shape to deal with the DI/stratified charge system...he was overseas and sent to a US shop then never heard from the shop again last I saw.

Why would you want a lower compression piston on a high compression motor? Was he gonna boost it?

Anyhow, I've not seen anything either. Not surprised though...just not a big enough market out there.

There HAS to be something else we can do besides bolt on mods! HAS to be!

Anything can be done with enough money, seems like these engines are just too complicated to justify major r&d for such a small market. When you think about the direct injection AND port injection, variable intake manifold, and throw in the fact that all 4 cams are variable, its complex, and our computers are a pain on top of the mechanical issues! There is not likely to ever be a market for mass produced parts on that level

As far as i know, a lot of American shops are all talk but no real works. I think a lot of people have seen companies claiming they are America's #1 this #1 that, all BS to me.

There are aftermarket pistons for the ISF, which can lower the compression ratio, i think they are made by elite auto. I am not sure if that works for the 2IS, but judging from the splat's elite supercharger or turbo built, they are just another company that talks big but never gets any real work done, they spent a whole year on installing an induction system into splat's car, but at the end there was still way too much problems that needs a fix, Yes you guys heard me right they spent 1 whole year having someone's car in their garage i would say stay away.

So true...but just give the market time. Maybe some day aftermarket cams and bolt-on turbo kits with engine mgmt will become available. Who knows!

Guys, this engine or a variation of it is used on a massive scale globally, if there aren't major hints of products yet, they're not coming... on the other hand it did take quite a while for TRD to release the supercharger for the 1GR in tacomas, but that engine is a little less complicated.

The less complicated, the easier it is to mod. So there-on lies our problem. Damn Lexus and their technology! LOL
