Default Nos Kit

What you guys think if I install a 75 Shot Wet System on a stock 1UZFE engine and a custom intake. Will it be ok? or is it gonna blow? Any info would be great..

but why?

the VVT-i 1UZ in ur '99 has weaker rods than earlier models and on a higher mileage engine it isnt really recco'd.

a custom intake wont really mean **** since ur drilling and tapping all of 6in. from the TB anyways...

Im assuming you know that he has a high mileage motor? if thats the case, then youre probably right.

but if NOT, then youre good , ive played with nitrous so many times. Had 75 shot wet on my 4 banger, did real good!....you might wanna go 75 "like you said" wet shot just to be safe with atleast 1 step Non-platinum colder spark plug. if it knocks or start pinging, then you might wanna retard the timing by a bit not too much or you'll lose power, well you'll lose power either way by retarding but it'll be safer. always play safe.

v8 should be good with 75 wet, ive seen 150 shot on a mustang pretty good and everybody knows how that engine handles.

any LS made in 99 that gets teh regular mileage is going to have ~100k mi+ maint. records are key.

the 98-00LS has rods weak enough that they tended to break with as little as 10lbs of boost. so even a 75shot of N2o is not somthing id risk, at least not with knowing that the rods may throw.

Why did the make the rods weaker? Wouldn't that just make the engine more unreliable? I wouldn't even think about NOS in my LS400...ever. It's a sedan man, if you want to put NOS in something put it in a Mustang or a Civic.

They made them lighter for reduced friction, which made them weaker. They're very reliable in a stock motor. I'm not sure if they're any weaker than 95-97 rods, since they are also weaker than 90-94 rods.

Sonyman is probably right. i'm guessing that when they started using the vvt-i technology, it was in 98. So they reduced the weight of the rods, hmmm.....kinda like the VQ35HR i guess.

Btw Bomexs14, if thats the case of the rods then you should disregard the use of nitrous.
