it is very minimal to none at all. i've heard one(all4sho350) in person. It adds a little sporty tone.

I've been debating getting the Tanabe exhaust system for my IS. I want the quietest exhaust possible. From everything I've read and heard, the Tanabe is the quietest for our cars. Is that an accurate statement to make?

IIRC there's some japanese exhaust that is like 1-2 db quieter but cost like $2000 to get in the US...

Among readily available exhausts though yes the Tanabe is the quietest (and one of the reasons I bought one)

I think I'll pass on the $2k exhaust, what a waste of money!
I've heard the Tanabe on an IS350, and really liked the mellow sound! It looks like Tanabe is my best choice.

To my ears, the F-sport exhaust is less bassy than the Tanabe, which in turn makes it less annoying on the ears....and it's quieter at highway speeds, but not at WOT.

Read my sound observations here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...ervations.html

And read mdgrwl's sound observations here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...-part-2-a.html

I went from Tanabe on a sedan to F-sport on a vert. Mdgrwl went from Tanabe to F-sport on a sedan, so his observations should be more applicable.

BTW, this assumes money doesn't matter, cause the Tanabe is like half the price of the F-sport

I'm coming from an HKS with a resonator delete and the drone on that was horrendous. I just switched to a tanabe today, and with the tanabe and a resonator delete the drone is vaguely there... very quiet setup which is nice for a change

Yup, I'm glad I went with Tanabe. Otherwise I would be in a world of shock...

Since it was my first aftermarket exhaust, it seemed pretty loud at first. But after hearing a few other exhausts, the Tanabe is actually tamed. I bit louder than stock, but not too loud
