Default Car wont start! Fuel filter install

Hey guys. I just finished installing a new fuel filter into my GS. I followed the DIY to the T and bought the fuel filter from sewell parts. I reinstalled everything and went to turn over the car and it wouldn't fire. It was cranking but wouldnt go. I checked the fuel line to see if any fuel was getting to the engine and alot came pouring out of the pump assembly. Do you guys have any ideas what it could be? I would really appreciate the help so i could get my car started again. Thanks alot!

Cool

I know it seems obvious, but did you verify that the filter is installed going in the right direction? They are directional. And if not, don't sweat it - we all make mistakes and no one should give you grief for it.

Hey guys. Thanks for the input. I took out the whole pump assembly again and dismanteled it and everything seemed like it was in the right place. Then i took a look at the old fuel filter to see if i missed any o-rings/washer's and sure enough on one of the inlet's i didnt see the o ring. So the fuel pump was actually pretty loose in the whole assembly. So i installed the o-ring and fuel filter and put it back in my car. It cranked right up after two tries and it sounds very very good. I almost want to say it made my car louder? But sure enough i go back into my garage to throw away the old filter and found this little rubber gasket piece on the bottom of the filter that i must have ALSO missed! Is this something that i have to put back on there and reinstall everything for the THIRD time? It seems to be running good right now.

Note to everybody looking to do this:

Make sure you look in every nook and cranny for parts before you go through the trouble of installing the new filter into your car!

So....How does the car feel TL? Does it feel the same other than the higher exhaust note? Also, when you get through a full tank please let us know the before and after gas mileage. Thanks!

Will do! I'm getting my car back tommorow morning from the shop, so i'll fill her up with 91 and keep you updated. Oh and here's a pic of the old filter, pretty surprising how nasty it was!

Yes, i cut this with a handsaw too. Took about 30 min, Your welcome!
