Default PPE Header , CEL and VSC - 2007 IS 350

I had my PPE Header installed by one of my Rally Racing buddy.. He took extra time to make sure everyone was done perfectly.. we even stop installing the PPE Header to get new manifold header gasket instead of using the existing stock Lexus. The header is connected to the upgraded Lexus Exhaust for 2007.

Performance was definitely increased and the sound is a higher pitch.. the PPE header are well worth its value!

But after several hours... the CEL and VSC came on.. so I unplug the battery and everything was ok again.. but several hours later the CEL and VSC came on again..

I know people in here will said it's the O2 sensor..but can people be more specific? I need to know which o2 sensor and how do I tell, how do I fixed or do I have to replace it? Or could it be a leak? Could the cause be the f-Sport intake which had to remove and place back on.

The more details the better...

Thanks..

It was installed with the (2) O2 sensor wiring extensions (included with the Kit).

Does you mean the optional (2) weld-on O2 extensions for post cat sensors/plugs?

The O2 extensions get welded onto the midpipe right behind the original O2 sensor bungs. Obviously, you will have to drill a new hole and seal the original sensor location - make sure there are no leaks!

Don't worry if the CEL comes on again after the sensor extensions have been installed. It may take some mileage before the car settles into the new configuration. This was my experience, at least.

I talked to an exhaust shop.. they were a little confused how the 90 Degree 02 sensor extension would stop the CEL.. since there is no Cat anymore and the sensor should still report bad air. They said that could install a fake extension to send false postive. How does this work?

Trust that it works. An actual scientific explanation was attempted by Lobuxracer, but I cannot find it now. It's in one of the PPE threads.

A qualified muffler shop installed it.. all seems fine.. no CEL after 3 days..

PPE header… worth every penny... I look for value in things I buy… the header is well worth its value (noticeable torque gain and louder high tone sound)

Good to hear.

PPE sent me some extension as my sim stopped working. The Mazzuri headers remove the primary cats. I will be installing the extension onto the OEM midpipe in hopes that it will make the CEL go away.

I should have them welded on in about 1 or 2 weeks.

Not the standard exhaust but the upgraded Lexus Exhaust before they change to the F-Sport Branding.

Fixed my CEL!!!

I used the PPE extension but had to add the Vibrant Perf. spacer with the smallest jet. I have over 100 miles on the setup so things look good.
