Question Any quick-fix for this?? Tom's filter owners...help!

I have the Tom's Racing drop-in flter in my GS3. Since putting it in, I've noticed that the abscence of the frame around the filter allows the sliding door on top of the stock airbox to vibrate loose. I obviously don't want dirt getting into my engine.

Anyone else have this problem??? Any ideas for a fix??

Help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Eric

Eric,

In the absence of any responses, my advice is to tape it down with a bit of duct tape.

Be careful, however or soon your car may begin to look like this:

Duct tape... it's what's for dinner.

Default OMG!!!

DaveGS4 - that thought actually went through my head before. I should just do an intake and CAB and be done with it....lol... any excuse for another mod!!

That duct tape page is the funniest sh*t I've seen in a long time.

do you have the metal frame that goes with it? Someone told me you need it for the GS300.

Default hmmmm

I think I might still have the frame. As instructed by Steve Ganz, I removed it in order to get the filter in there in the first place. Would it actually fit with the frame on????

I am not sure what the differences are between 400 and 300 airbox but I had to make a plate for the filter to rest on since it was a little small. Basically took a piece of aluminum and cut it to make the tom's fit snug. Not super pretty but works great.

I can take a pic this weekend if you'd like to see how I fixed this problem.

Late.

Cool

no big deal. It would be cool to see, though. That is, if it's not too much trouble and you have the time to do it. Otherwise I'll just prob duct tape it!! lol
