Default My SRT Intake Install

I thought I would post up some pictures of my SRT intake install. I powdercoated the intake piping and the heatshield semi-metallic black to match the engine bay. The couplers are red, matching the some of the wiring. Now I'm just looking for a way to tuck the wires from the HID's out of sight. I'm also looking to change out the filter to the Blitz Power SUS or the AEM Dryflow Air Filter since the intake piping is so much bigger and the filter looks small in comparison. I'm hoping it will fill out the space a little better as well. I'm leaning towards the Dryflow, but let me know what you guys think.

Here are some pics.

piping/heatshield looks great powder coated. since it doesnt seem like you have anything else red underhood i might have made the couplers and the wire black or something to fit.

tuck the ballasts EITHER under the fenders or under the bumper support

Sakataj: The wiring and fuse holder for the amps are red, couldn't really see it in the pictures. Also the positive battery cover is red! hahaha. I was actually going to ask Steve (XenonDepot) if I could cut the wires down a little. If not then I'm going to tuck the ballast/wires under the fenders. The ones for the fogs are on the bumper support. Thanks for the input!

Denut-L: I did feel some power difference, definitely a smoother power band. I have this and the L-tuned exhaust, which gives the car a really nice purr. I don't drive my car hard, rarely pass 3k rpm. But I did step on it after the install and it did have a little more giddy-up.

Looks good!

You can fill up all that engine space with a supercharger.

Default filter

Congrats. I too just installed an SRT with the old style filter and was also thinking of changing out the filter for a higher flow version. Let me know what you find out on Blitz vs Dryflow.

Thanks for all the compliments! A supercharger or turbocharger would be a perfect addition! I'll have to talk to the financier about that. hahaha.

Sakataj: Its a 2003 GS300. I'm using the XenonDepot xTreme 9006 kit for the low beams and foglights. 4300k color temp. I would like to eventually do the projector retrofit or if a good deal comes along, pick a set up.

MemGS300: Will do! The GS is currently covered in the garage. But once I get a free weekend I'll check the dimensions and see what filter will fit. I have the Blitz Power SUS in my MR2 right now and I like it, but I'm leaning towards the AEM Dryflow based on what I've read.

Hahaha...I did consider it Mix. An intake wouldn't make my track time any less humiliating. hahaha. Lets TT your SC and I'll drag/track that?!?! haha
