you can flush it yourself and it is pretty dang easy. I used 14 quarts last flush I did. Every 30k works fine if you flush it. Type T-IV only and you can get it at Toyota.

Transmission is at your own discretion really, a flush is always safe, its dropping the pan and changing the filter that pushes risks at higher miles. You can go 25-30,000 miles between tranny services (flushes) drain fill and fills work because your always keeping fresh fluid circulating. Oil wise, synthetic is always the best way to go, and although you can go 5-6,000 miles on it as the recommended interval, but i cahnge mine every 3000 just to get a new filter on. Weight depends a lot on climate/time of year 5 or 10w30 are good

I did a tranny drain/refill at 75k.
The fluid was pink, very smooth. I won't bother to change it again.
There's a reason the maintenance schedule says to inspect only: it isn't necessary to replace it.

Transmission fluid flush is left to the discretion of the driver. If you drive hard 8 out of 10 times when you drive, I would recommend draining and refilling every 3rd oil change interval (9,000 miles) But if you are a lazy driver then every 15000 miles is fine.
Check the fluid by placing the dip stick on a white paper cloth. If the color looks reddish/brown (smells slightly burn) you’re probably due for a fluid change.
If your fluid is pinkish/reddish and have a sweet smell/taste you’re good!
Good luck,
Andre
PS: If you have a higher stall converter and are an aggressive driver, I’d change it every other oil change!!!
