There's a LOT different. Stroking the engine is probably about the hardest way to get more power out of it. You'd be way ahead to just get a 350 - or find a totaled 350 and transfer all the pieces you'd need to make it a 2GR-FSE instead of a 4GR-FE. There are NO easy swaps between the engines, and you'll have a real nightmare getting it tuned since there is no aftermarket for engine management yet (maybe never). For the amount of time and effort you'll put into it, you'd be way ahead just to buy a 350 instead.

nothing much else you can do to this car to get any more power.. it's pretty much maxed. Maybe some headers or NOS.

I don't think you have a cold air intake, unless you custom fabricated one. The megan headers and full 2.5inch piping all the way out the rear end is a great first step to maximizing power out of the IS250. There isn't much after that you can do for the 250's..they're just not fast machines, AT ALL.

The cheapest way to add a lot of power to an IS250 is to trade it in for an IS350.

Seriously.

It's about a $4,000 difference in price between a RWD 250 and a RWD 350. And you gain 102 horsepower.

There's literally nothing you can do to a 250 to add even half that much power for less than $4000, other than perhaps nitrous (and even then you're talking half the power, not the 100+ hp)

Your answer is right on their web page-

"There is no soldering involved. You'll locate your vehicle's IAT sensor and your new Chip will be installed via the factory harness."

It's the old 50 cent resistor trick, now with a plug and a dial, for a mere $79.95!

Default Many Threads Merged

This is the mother of all performance chip threads. I've merged a ridiculous number of these scams into a single thread. Start here if you are thinking about a "chip" for your ISx50.
