I've been looking at pretty much all the vids here of the different exhaust set-up's and I still cant make up my mind.
I cant go anywhere close to see them live, as I have 1 of the total 2 IS250's here..
I installed the F Sport intake last fall, and I love the deep - almost V8 like rumble, however you only get that above 3000 and with a fair amount of throttle applied..
I would love to have an exhaust set-up that would give me a similar deep growl at idle and low rpm's, before the intake sound takes over.
I dont want that high-pitched sound though at higher rpm's which is typical for V6's...
is this possible?
I've been thinking about the Lexus HKS - but will that make a high-pitched sound at high rpm's that will more or less cancel out the intake growl?
I have this combo. The sound from the exhaust is noticeable from around 1.5k rpm to 3k rpm. Above that, the intake sound takes over. IMO it doesn't sound like a V8 but I didn't expect it to either. It's a great combo for me, noticeable enough without being too loud.
I have the F-Sport intake + Lexus HKS on my IS250.....
The intake defiantly takes over at over 3000-3500 RPM... and the exhaust Does not cancel it out... to me, this combo is great, Although it could be a little louder when just barley on the gas... because sometimes the HKS becomes a little too quiet ...Thats why I may add a megan mid-pipe...
And for the high pitched sound... I dont hear any ... and im young enough to hear the super high pitched mosquito ring tone ... so if there was,.... I would hear it lol
HKS HI Power all the way man i got it my self lov it looks so agressive get complaments all the time and sound deep why would u want an axhaust that looks stock like lexuses or tanabe how boring
