Default Gs3 transmission

What kind of power will a stock gs3 auto transmission be able to withstand?
Also what manual transmissions will bolt onto/work with the 2jz?
Thanks

i know that transmission will work, i was talking about other transmissions like the 5-speed found on the mkIII supra, the W58 and R154. Because you can get your hands on those for about $500-$1000...and for a 5K difference, i could deal with any down sides... lol

I believe the tranny from the MKIII Supra will work(R154), but you will need the bell housing and flywheel from the 1jz.

**EDIT** - Went google searching, ended up on the Supra forums and found out you should probably get the flywheel bolts too. A user by the name of "SUPRASTANGER507mgte" says you will need 8 of them and a few other users backed up this info. Another thing you will need is the 7M-GTE clutch kit which consists of a clutch, pressure plate, pilot bearing, and throwout bearing. I also read that the 2jz flywheel will work with the R154. You will just need to redrill it to match the R154 pressure plate.

Sorry man, I can't seem to find anything on that. Try searching around the Supra forums. Some GS3 owners lurk around on them, many with standard transmission swaps.

You could even search on here. Some members have swapped out their transmissions. You could probably ask them. I doubt they would mind you asking a few questions.

I contacted someone that was located in Austin TX, and their shop specializes in Supras, they told me they can rebuild one and install it for around 3000-4000. Try looking around you locally. Someone around you might be able to do a valve body job.
