Gs3 transmission
i know that transmission will work, i was talking about other transmissions like the 5-speed found on the mkIII supra, the W58 and R154. Because you can get your hands on those for about $500-$1000...and for a 5K difference, i could deal with any down sides... lol
I believe the tranny from the MKIII Supra will work(R154), but you will need the bell housing and flywheel from the 1jz.
**EDIT** - Went google searching, ended up on the Supra forums and found out you should probably get the flywheel bolts too. A user by the name of "SUPRASTANGER507mgte" says you will need 8 of them and a few other users backed up this info. Another thing you will need is the 7M-GTE clutch kit which consists of a clutch, pressure plate, pilot bearing, and throwout bearing. I also read that the 2jz flywheel will work with the R154. You will just need to redrill it to match the R154 pressure plate.

I contacted someone that was located in Austin TX, and their shop specializes in Supras, they told me they can rebuild one and install it for around 3000-4000. Try looking around you locally. Someone around you might be able to do a valve body job.
