Default A340E transmission Question

To make a long story short. My stock A340E transmission lasted about 3weeks with 425 whp. Ok, I know it wasn't going to last but I had hoped it would last more than 3 weeks. Enough said on that.

What I need to know is -

1.) Has anyone used the Boostlogic Transmission upgrade?
2.) Can a Supra tt auto a341E replace a a340e? Will it realy hold up any better?
3.) Has anyone done thier own rebuild? I found a place in NJ that will sell a kit, just not sure I want to take on a progect like this.
4.) Can any other auto be made to work? Maybe something more common and more people build for power.

5.) Any information anyone has on transmission upgrades or replacement will be great?

Thanks.

1. Yes

2. Yes, it will bolt right up but cannot be controlled with the SC300ecu....You will need somthing like an AEM stantalont to control it. Its supposed to be stronger. How strong???

3. Somthing I may try, Service manuals might help.

4.?

gadgetsc : How do you like the boostlogic trans and what kind of power are you running through it?

TurboB6: How hard was it to install the TH400 and what else will I have to mod to run it? How do you like and what kind of power are you running? I think this maybe a good posiblity.

Sorry about all the questions, but I realy want to do this right. I don't want to build it up now than in six months have to do it again. I am looking at running around 425 whp daily and 550+ when I want to play.

Thanks for the info!

Been doing some more searching on the forms and found that a GM 4l80E might work. Do you know if this has the same bolt pattern as a TH400? I am going to keep searching on the net for info.

I don't have it up and running just yet. I'm waiting for the finishing touches on the Motec ems Install.

But It should be in the range of 750-800+ rwhp

If your planning on using the Th400 you'll need the adapter plate or custom bellhousing. and misc other things, speedo conversion, custom dipstick, shifter linkage, custom driveshaft etc... I'm sure there are other numerous little things, there always is.

I'm not sure on the degree of difficulty though since I had everything done at once on my car by a shop.

Derf....I havent had the boostlogic tranny too long but I have put about 500 miles on it. I am satisfied with it so far. I have been running somewhere around where you want to run daily. The tranny shifts hard and fast and shifts well under boost.....although.....I have had the boostcontroller on and have bounced off of the rev limiter a couple of times in high boost
I have to say that the Boostlogic people are some of the best people that I have dealt with since starting this project. They got me a tranny built and shipped in record time. The tranny arrived with all sensors and cables and ready to install. All the good things you hear about them are true.
You might consider the TH400 or the TT-A340e. The TT A340e will be my next step if this one doesnt work out.
