how could you not think that? the 2is definitely wasn't built for 400hp let alone 1000, or 1200. what transmission are you using? why is it that the block seems to be tilted towards the back, optical illusion? and just out of curiosity, is english your first language?

Are you sure the stock differential and axles really needed to be replaced? The amount of stress on those components is really limitted pretty much by the grippiness of the tires, so I wouldn't expect them to fail much faster whether you had 300 HP or 1000 HP. I figure it's a lot like putting massively oversized brakes on a car that has crappy tires. The tires can only do so much ...
^^^ on second thought, if you have a manual transmission with a strong enough clutch to hold a ton of HP, then I guess you could pretty easily shatter the stock differential just with drive line shock.
what i was thinking. and replace my hp arguments with tq, thats what would break components
In the case of broken drivetrain components, I still don't think torque from the engine is really that much of an enemy with street tires. It only takes a couple thousand ft-lbs of torque to break street tires loose (1st gear with 250 ft-lbs at the crank). However, with a brisk clutch engagement with a super strong clutch and heavy flywheel, the instantaneous shock to the drivetrain could be many, many times the amount of torque the engine can provide.
the reason why i did work in the rear end is because the stock diferentials on the i.s are good for basic motor work and if i try to launch with them at the track am going to end up in the same spot then again with a set of slicks you need some good diferentials and stronger axles. the transmission am using is a speed tranny with a stage 3 spec clutch i know its kind of noisy but thats wat i need to not have trouble.
