Does anyone know where he got this done? I dont know why you guys are hating on this....its jealousy from what I see. Just my 2cents. Im sure they will figure out a way to do the swap and keep everything else.
It would be very interesting to know what does and does not work on the inside. From what I've seen, very little of the OEM instrumentation would continue to work, and a great deal of the other systems would be at the very least compromised.
I don't think its hating or jealousy I think its a scary prospect. On one side we all want more power. On the other side the risk of screwing up our precious IS and being stuck with the bill to fix it is quite frightening. I do respect the guy for doing it. It's people like that who push the envelope and eventually bring it to the masses.
Yeah he got this done at Miami Speed Shop in Doral, FL...I saw most of the car being built. They really did take there time with it.
^^Right, but there are technologies you would have to integrate to the 2JZ that don't exist on a 2JZ vehicle. The security system and "keyless" starting are just two of the small things that would be extremely challenging to integrate. So we'd all like to know how this was done, or if this car is like the other (former) 2JZ 2IS swap with a complete standalone ECM, aftermarket gauges, and no provisions for the myriad amenities depending on the original ECM to work.
